In 1921 a small group of concerned citizens, dedicated to preserving local history, founded the Clinton County Historical Society. In the ensuing years CCHS has grown tremendously with the continued goal of preserving the County’s treasures, sharing them with the public through free programs and special displays, community events, history camps and programs for children.
The main offices are in the Victorian Heisey House Museum, 362 East Water Street. We offer research facilities and resources on people, places and things in our County’s history.
In addition to the Heisey House Museum and Ice House, the Historical Society also operates other properties including the Barton Street School, the Farrandsville Iron Furnace and the Castanea Railroad Station.
