Carnegie Museum of Natural History

Redefining the 21st-Century Museum

Carnegie Museum of Natural History’s two interdisciplinary Centers present a new vision for how we conduct and present our work, thereby enriching the way the public engages with the museum, our science, and the future of life and Earth. This structure is our pathway to institutional sustainability, increased impact, and creative collaborations, all of which lead to enhanced experiences for our visitors and increased value to our community.

Carnegie Museum of Natural History, one of the four Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, is among the top natural history museums in the country. It maintains, preserves, and interprets an extraordinary collection of 22 million objects and scientific specimens used to broaden understanding of evolution, conservation, and biodiversity.
