Elizabeth Township Historical Society

Elizabeth Township Historical Society is 501(c)3 non-profit organization formed in December 1976 following the American Bicentennial celebration. The society attempts to preserve the rich cultural, genalogical and historical heritage of the “Forks of the Yough.” This is the area between the Monongahela and Youghiogheny rivers and their valleys which encompasses parts of Allegheny, Westmoreland and Washington counties. We presently own and maintain The Coates House, Greenock Log House, and three cemeteries: Dravo and Old Greenock, both in Elizabeth Township, and Coulter in South Versailles Township. In addition, we maintain the Greenock Honor Roll.

We are members of the Pennsylvania Federation of Museums and historical organizations. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted by the Society and proceeds are used to promote the preservation of local history for future generations.
