Deaccessioning Notice from PHMC

The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) has announced that it has deaccessioned a number of items and objects from its collections.

The PHMC places a high priority on keeping objects in the public domain. Whenever possible, deaccessioned objects will be sold, exchanged, or transferred to responsible, non-profit, educational institutions whose missions are relevant to the deaccessioned objects, and who will adequately care for the objects and ensure the general public’s access to them. The PHMC recognizes a limited number of objects have nominal market value and will consider proposals to transfer some objects to other institutions at no cost to the recipient beyond the costs of shipping/transportation. The PHMC asks that you express any interest you might have in these items by December 15, 2018.

Please email Mary Jane Miller for a complete list of items/objects.
